Snowed-In Chili

Oh, you've never heard of Snowed-In Chili®? Well let me tell you about it.

On Wednesday of this week, the Midwest was sexually assaulted with a pretty epic snowstorm. The resulting snow shut down most of the Chicago-land area, and created my very first snow day, since I was in grade school.

You know what they say. "When life gives you lemons, make lemon aid. When life gives you a big ass snow storm, make Chili."

The concept of Snowed-In Chili® came by necessity. The local roads where closed, and in turn so are most business, including grocery stores. So the cupboard and fridge where raided for chili related accoutrement, and the Crock Pot was dusted off for it's 8 hour cooking adventure.

The resulting chili was actually REALLY good. I must say that it's some of my finest work.

We also accompanied this special chili treat with some homemade "Blue-Ribbon" Beer Bread.

The last thing needed to enjoy this chili was, of course, a Bill Murray movie. And in honor of the holiday, we invited over friends over and watched Groundhogs Day.

When asked to make a comment for this blog, words like "quite", "texture", "taste" and "spiciness" where used. Clearly a overwhelming success.

Did you put that Chili Chat card in there?
    It creates a wonderful essence.

  2. Little know fact, the chili card is actually made from dehydrated chili spice, and really adds ZING to your recipe.
